This is for someone very close to me, who neglects to let me use her name as a title -.- But I love her anyways!! *MuAh!!*
Beautiful Girl
Tears do not belong on a 5-year-old's face
Because she leaves the room, never left a trace
Mommy and Daddy made her grow up way too fast
Now she looks back, older, upon her past
She remembers being just a bragging right
No one came close, no one to hold her tight
Every other little girl with their hopeful dreams
But her, every night, coming apart at the seams
No one would dare be so kind
To ask what was going on in her mind
No one cared that much
All she longed for was a loving touch
The whole world was blind
From a beautiful soul and an enchanting mind
How no one saw, and how she cried
Keeping her talents hidden, and she lied
So scared to open up because she knew it well
The pain felt like walking barefoot right through hell
She wouldn't let anyone in
She was too scared to be hurt again
She only lay broken, like beads of a necklace on the floor
No bleeding, no hurting, no sorrow anymore
But alone in her love, to keep it all out
Reaching for someone, who really was there, no doubt
How could no one see?
All that she had, all of the beauty?
Her heart was torn and broken
She thought it never to ever be mend
But then came some light
Told her that she had done right
The light said to cry if need
Explained to her to share her creed
Then came curiosity, and then trust
Saying all she needed until she thought she would bust
So many things covered by the dirt of her sorrow
But now she had hope, a need for tomorrow
How does one person perform a miracle
When she is only just a girl
Who is stuck in a rut, unable to get up
Following No One around, like a droopy eyed pup?
How do you invoke happiness in the face of a frown?
Especially when you feel like you're only going down.
But it is possible if you believe,
I know it sounds corny, but it's been achieved
Hope is found in the dimmest places,
Smiles found on the most unlikely faces
Why do they still try
When they ought to sit down and cry?
Because there is, she found, a light,
But some have only known fright
There is, she found, a love,
But some only know scars from a glove
Something in her mirror would lie
Tell her things and make her cry
She learned not to listen to the yells
Now she actually hears the cheerful bells
Wonder is a good thing in her head
Where everything good used to lay dead
Now she grasps and holds on
She knows love, but her memories are not gone
Scary dreams seem all too real
And she won’t talk about how she feels
The need to talk rises and falls
This girl thinks no one hears when she calls
But they’re calling to her when she turns away
So many things left unheard, but they have left to say
There’s caring beyond a reason
But it’s decided; some will cause her treason
There are little things in everything she says
When she calls you stupid, it means a laugh instead
She’s always joking, trying to conceal
That she’s scared of the idea of people being real
The idea that she can be loved, still scares her now
She’s starting to realize and she’s starting to see how
Everything could be in in different light
Not everything’s bad, not always a need for fright
She reaches out, unseen
And no one knows what she may mean
Words of never mind forgotten and gone away
But the ideas in her head, they never go astray
This beautiful girl is heard
Especially when she says not a word
By the people who are there
And the ones who promise to always care
